Accommodations

Georgetown University is committed to providing an accessible and welcoming learning environment for all students. Should you require disability accommodations for your coursework, please contact the Academic Resource Center (ARC). The ARC serves as the main facilitator for student disability access and does so in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the amended Americans with Disabilities Act of 2008 (ADAAA).

The process for requesting accommodations is detailed on the ARC's website. If you have questions about the request process, you may contact the ARC via email at arc@georgetown.edu.

You are highly encouraged to begin the request process as promptly as possible, as review may take up to four weeks.

Upon receiving your request, an ARC administrator will review it and will contact you to set a meeting to discuss your request and to determine what accommodations will be reasonable and appropriate. In addition, general ARC policies and procedures will be reviewed.

Please understand that the university is not responsible for implementing individualized accommodations for students who have not formalized their requests through the ARC. In addition, the university need not modify programmatic, course, or degree requirements that are considered to be an essential component of the program of instruction.

Faculty and the MBA program cannot provide accommodations without authorization from the ARC. Furthermore, students with approved accommodations should be certain to adhere to relevant ARC procedures and timelines in order to ensure the appropriate implementation of those accommodations in their classes.
