Cohorts & Study Teams

Cohorts and Study Teams

A key feature of the Georgetown McDonough MBA student experience is our cohort system. Throughout the duration of the program, you will complete your core courses with the same group of up to 70 students, with the exception of the Global Business Experience. While electives allow you to get to know a broad range of students across programs and class years, the cohort system for core courses ensures that strong community bonds are developed with one group. This system is also designed to promote relationships and networks outside of the classroom that will last long after you graduate. Cohorts will be announced in mid-July by your new program advisor.

Within your cohort, you also will be assigned small-group study teams of five to six students for group projects and support. Each team will be composed of students from various cultural and professional backgrounds. You will get new study teams during the program.

In addition, we provide you with a personal program advisor from the MBA Program Office team to support you throughout your experience and help you determine your course plan. The Program Office also empowers you to take on leadership positions within our student organizations.
