The Georgetown McDonough MBA program provides a whole-person education that builds global business knowledge and inspires ethical leaders to serve the common good.
Our rigorous Full-time MBA, Flex MBA, and Flex MBA Online core curriculum equips you for internships, jobs, and entrepreneurial endeavors. Integrated across disciplines, core courses teach you the quantitative tools, analytical frameworks, and communication skills necessary to succeed in business.
In addition to mastering the core, you will select electives from approximately 70 different courses to develop specialized knowledge and focus on specific industries. These courses allow you to customize the curriculum to meet your academic and professional goals. Beyond standard module (half-semester) classes, you will also have the opportunity to take one- or two-week courses called Intensive Learning Experiences as electives.
The core culminates with the Global Business Experience, a professional-level consulting project that builds upon the knowledge gained from your courses. With guidance from a faculty member, you will work with a small group of fellow MBA students and partner with executives from multinational organizations to address complex business challenges. The work includes time abroad, where you will travel to the client’s country for a week-long trip to do field research, meet the client, and present preliminary findings.
Full-time students should expect occasional academic commitments in the evening and on weekends for exams. Additionally, they often choose to take courses that are only offered in the evening. Flex and Flex Online students have evening and weekend commitments outside of their typical class nights for exams and electives as well. Please note that not all electives are available online.
