55 H Street NW Graduate Housing
Georgetown University’s downtown residential community
Georgetown University graduate students can live at 55 H Street NW – the university’s newest residential community downtown. Explore what it means to live, study and work in Washington, DC, and immerse yourself in the graduate Hoya experience. You can make 55 H Street your home by signing a Housing Occupancy Agreement (HOA) — the legal equivalent of a lease — for consideration in the 2024-25 academic year. The official housing selection process to select a room will take place in February 2024. Discover what it means to live in downtown DC:
Apartment Availability: Choose from fully-furnished studio, 2-bedroom or 4-bedroom apartments with all amenities and utilities included (water, electric, internet, etc.).
Roommate Selection: Identify the name(s) of other future residents you prefer to share an apartment with, or apply for your single bedroom to be matched with other students.
Resident Fellows: The Resident Fellows (RFs) at 55 H Street assist and advise students residing in the apartment complex and serve a hybrid role: with some responsibilities similar to an undergraduate Resident Assistant and others to a Community Director. RFs are key leaders responsible for counseling and mediation, academic support, community development, crisis response, administrative duties and staff training.
Building Amenities: Take advantage of a penthouse with a fitness center, study space, contemplation and viewing room, as well as floor lounges with communal dining space, and individual and group study spaces.
Transportation: Free transportation is provided between 55 H St. and the Georgetown University Main Campus via Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) buses from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.; an additional on-call shuttle is available to and from select downtown campus locations (111 Massachusetts parking garage and 500 First St).
Rates for 2025-2026 will be shared in the new year. Available HOAs: 9 months or 12 months on a space-available basis. We advise you to carefully review all contractual obligations.
